Wasatch Adaptive Sports
The mission of Wasatch Adaptive Sports is to encourage individuals with adaptive needs and their families to realize their potential and engage in active living through year-round recreational, educational and social programs. A variety of three-wheeled recumbents and handcycles will be available for rental through Wasatch Adaptive Sports.
A complimentary Snowbird shuttle will be in operation between meeting venues during the conference for any attendees who may need additional assistance. The shuttle will run to/from Cliff Lodge to the Snowbird Event Center area.
Lessons take place at Snowbird’s Austin Pond (wheelchair accessible). This program gets participants outdoors focusing on the strategy and technique behind the catch and emphasizes a comprehensive understanding of either fly or reel fishing.
Participants enjoy the Wasatch National Forest by hiking the Barrier-Free Trail at Snowbird. This paved, wheel-chair accessible path meanders .5 miles amongst old spruce and fir trees to the observation deck overlooking Little Cottonwood Canyon. The network of dirt trails at the base of the mountain are a great hiking option as well.
American Sign Language Interpreters will be available at all scientific sessions throughout the conference. More details to be posted soon.
Adaptive yoga emphasizes the experience of the pose through grounding, expansion, balance and rhythm. More details to be posted soon.
Wasatch Adaptive Sports programming focuses on increasing independence and mobility in a social environment.
